Day 14 P90X X Stretch 2.3.12
Today is friday, and what a great day to finish up the week of P90X. Week 2 is done, and I am feeling pretty excited about the fact that I just did 2 weeks of it. My body is starting to change, and it is beginning to be noticeable. Today when I took my photos, my wife/fiancee (I say wife sometimes because it is just easier) was like "Wow, did you work your arms today?" and I was like, "No, today was just stretching" and she said "well you can totally tell the difference, look at your arms, and your shoulders" It is these types of things that make me feel that this hard work, busting my ass every morning at 5 am is starting to make a difference. I looked at the pictures today too and I coud see a huge difference in my back/triceps just from the day before. I was like "what, look at the difference, thats just one day" i couldnt believe it. So that being said, I started feeling the effects of the exercise after only 2-3 days. I mean, I was sore and everything from the beginning, but after 2 days of it, I was already feeling great, with great energy, and that natural high. Now, two weeks in, my body is starting to show signs of change. That is pretty good!
X STRETCH - I had never done this before during the other times I had started this workout program. This time, I have done it both weeks, and I actually LOVE IT! It is such a good break from the intense workouts, and it does wonders for the body. The only thing that i have to say about it, is that it doesn't do a great job of stretching out the hips, and groin muscles. So what I did, because I have had some issues with pulled groin muscles in the past, was paused the DVD and took some time to stretch out those muscles, and make sure I was taking care of them too. It took and extra 3-4 minutes, and made me feel safe that I wasn't going to reinjure them due to no stretching etc.
WEEK 2 in review: Looking back at week two, i had a few specific challenges that really tested my committment to this thing. I had to come home one night, Monday and do my workout after a long day at work, finishing up my working out at 10pm and getting to bed at 11pm, and then getting up at 5am Tuesday morning to do the YOGA! I did that, and was glad I did and it was in doing that - that I am slowly proving to myself one day/step at a time that I am going to see this thing through. Shit is going to come up, life is going to happen, and I am just going to have to figure out how to work around it and make sure I stay committed.
